- Scope
- The Klaus Barisch collection is composed of eleven black and white photographs recording Nam June Paik’s performance in 1960 as well as 1980, and one essay written by art historian, Wilfried Dörstell. Six photographs taken in 1960 and 1961 present Nam June Paik performing at Etude for Piano Forte and other Fluxus artists after the event of Neue Musik, both of which happened at Atelier Mary Bauermeister in Cologne. Also included are five photographs recording Nam June Paik and Charlotte Moorman at the event of Musik der Zeit: Begegnung Mit Korea – Soirée Paik-Moorman, happening at WDR Funkhaus Cologne in 1980
- Abstract
- Klaus Barisch is a photographer based in Germany. Studying at Cologne University in 1960, Klaus Barisch came into contact with the arts budding Fluxus artists. The Klaus Barisch collection comprises black and white photographs presenting Etude for Piano Forte (1960) performed at Atelier Mary Bauermeister in Cologne and Nam June Paik’s performance with Charlotte Moorman at WDR Funkhaus Cologne in 1980.
